About the Role
Ferrovial is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Renewable Energy Development team, you will be responsible for managing the origination and development of renewable energy projects in alignment with our business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify optimal locations for developing and building renewable energy projects.
- Negotiate and secure land rights, maintaining strong relationships with landowners.
- Lead the permitting process, ensuring all project permits, licenses, and authorizations are obtained on time and within budget.
- Obtain grid access and interconnection rights to the electrical grid, considering designs that minimize environmental and social impact, completion schedules, and costs while maintaining technical requirements.
- Find and implement solutions to ensure project feasibility from an investment and financing perspective, including defining the energy sales model or other attributes.
- Establish commercial and/or strategic relationships with potential clients, partners, or collaborators in each market.
- Contract and manage development services providers, technical advisors, and consultants to support development activities.
- Maintain relationships with local, regional, and national administrations (public and private), DNO/TSO, and other entities/agencies for expedited processing of permits, licenses, and authorizations.
- Interact and support construction and business areas, serving as the primary point of expertise for your area of knowledge.
Requirements
- Engineering degree associated with electrical power systems and/or electrical engineering. Other education levels may be considered if relevant experience is proven.
- Proven track record and experience in a similar role for more than 3 years.
- Candidates with experience working directly for renewable energy developers are preferred. Familiarity with project permitting is essential.
- Candidates with experience in the design and construction of renewable energy projects will be appreciated.
- Good understanding of grid access permitting and grid connection agreements.
- Experience in projects in America, Europe, and Australia will be valued.
- Ability to travel as needed for projects and opportunities.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, strategic vision, drive to achieve results, and commercial acumen.
- Proactive, autonomous, flexible, and able to prioritize. Anticipation capacity and problem-solving skills are essential.
- English intermediate level is required (B2).
