Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Developer to join our team at the CRG. As a pivotal member of our team, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving operational processes on a daily basis, contributing to the success of our project, National IMPaCT-Data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve operational issues to ensure seamless functioning of EGA services and databases
  • Implement effective solutions to improve operational processes and drive project success
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and address challenges, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our operational processes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in advanced PostgreSQL, including PL/pgSQL and replication
  • Advanced Python skills
  • Knowledge of AWS, specifically for S3, EC2, SES
  • Familiarity with messaging software, specifically RabbitMQ
  • Knowledge of Jenkins for automating software development processes
  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines
  • Advanced Linux systems administration
  • Knowledge of Docker and related tooling
  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with Big Data database technologies
Education and Training

You will need a Degree in Computational Science or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position. Proven experience in Linux distributions, databases, system security, and related technologies is also required.

Language and Competences

You will need to be fluent in English, as it is the working language of the group. You will also need exceptional organizational skills, be an autonomous problem-solver, proficient in writing documentation, accurate and detail-oriented, and a team player.Desirable but Not Required

Genomics data expertise, knowledge of genomics data, including data types, tools, pipelines, and indexing technologies, is desirable but not required. You may also speak Spanish and/or Catalan.
