About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Project Manager to join our Critical Projects Implementation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering projects within Amazon's data centers. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of critical infrastructure improvement projects, optimizing space, power, and cooling utilization within our operational data centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project management and oversight of construction-related activities, including modifying existing infrastructure and installing new equipment.
  • Providing project management for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency.
  • Electrical design and review of designs associated with data center optimization.
  • Construction/project package drawing review.
  • Creation of project scope, request for proposals, and capital requests.
  • Total project quality, including commissioning plan creation and execution oversight.
  • Recording and reporting key metrics to team members and management.
  • Operational support, including review of procedures, best practices, and maintenance initiatives.
  • Leading teams to perform troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis associated with equipment or electrical failures.
  • Collaborating with contractors and vendors to deliver efficient and high-quality project turnovers.
About the Team

The Critical Projects Implementation team is a project management and execution team that manages construction activity within operational data center spaces. We are tasked with critical infrastructure improvement projects to optimize utilization of space, power, and cooling within operational data centers around the globe.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction or project management.
  • 5+ years of experience in vendor management.
  • 5+ years of experience in the technical field of power distribution and data center mechanical cooling systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, incorporate feedback, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record for developing a vision, defining a strategy, and building programs and features solving complicated problems with elegant, simple solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
