We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Systems Engineer to join our Research Infrastructures team within the Operations Digital Transformation area at i2CAT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded systems for vehicular communications.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop embedded systems for vehicular communications, including hardware and software components.
- Implement and test connected autonomous vehicles prototypes based on ROS and open-source frameworks for autonomous driving.
- Deploy, demonstrate, and evaluate advanced CAM use cases on real mobility scenarios.
- Participate in the dissemination activities of 6GCAMLab, contributing to the elaboration of technical papers to be submitted to conferences and journals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of embedded systems with other components.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with at least 1 year of experience.
- Hands-on experience with hardware/software development of embedded systems.
- Proven expertise in programming with C, C++, and Python languages.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and networking troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Knowledge and understanding of networking technologies, Cloud Computing, and edge computing.
- Experience in Robotics Operating System (ROS).
- Knowledge of research trends in vehicular communications.
- Knowledge in protocol stacks for V2X communications: ETSI G5 stacks, IEEE 802.11p, C-V2X and 5G.
- Knowledge in simulation tools for vehicular communications, e.g., Omnet++, SUMO, ns-3, and CARLA.
