Job Title: Junior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Systems Engineer to join our Research Infrastructures team at i2CAT. As a key member of our Operations & Digital Transformation area, you will work closely with our research areas, including Mobile Wireless Internet, Internet of Things, and Distributed Artificial Intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement the 6GCAMLab facilities, a key experimental infrastructure for research and development in enabling technologies for future Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM).
  • Deploy, commission, and test sensors and network infrastructure elements for V2X communications.
  • Implement and test connected autonomous vehicles prototypes based on ROS and open-source frameworks for autonomous driving.
  • Deploy, demonstrate, and performance evaluate advanced CAM use cases on real mobility scenarios.
  • Participate in dissemination activities, contributing to the elaboration of technical papers to be submitted to conferences and journals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Hands-on experience in hardware/software development of embedded systems.
  • Proven expertise in programming with C, C++, and Python languages.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux and networking troubleshooting.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of networking technologies, Cloud Computing, and edge computing.
