Position Overview

We are currently seeking a seasoned Mechanical or Systems Engineer with a strong background in hardware engineering to manage our external collaborations. This position demands a professional adept at overseeing technical initiatives with external partners, ensuring that project goals, technical specifications, and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in hardware design, systems engineering, and leading intricate technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to establish technical requirements for mechanical hardware and outline overall system processes.
  • Assess and evaluate technical proposals from external vendors, ensuring alignment with project needs and technical feasibility.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures and schedules, in partnership with external vendors for mechanical engineering designs.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to external partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges during project execution, working with both internal and external teams to devise solutions.
  • Implement and uphold technical quality assurance standards for hardware and software development, conducting regular audits of deliverables.
  • Facilitate effective communication between internal stakeholders and external partners, providing updates on technical progress and project risks.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading mechanical design teams and managing external partnerships.
  • Strong background in technical project management, particularly in mechanical and software development.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • In-depth technical knowledge in hardware design and systems integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects, delivering results within budget and on schedule.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
