We are currently looking for a skilled Mechanical or Systems Engineer with a strong background in hardware engineering to manage our external collaborations in these fields. This position requires an experienced professional capable of overseeing technical interactions with external organizations, ensuring alignment with project goals, technical specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in hardware design, systems engineering, and a proven track record in leading intricate technical projects with external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with internal and external partners to establish technical requirements for mechanical hardware and define comprehensive system processes and protocols.
- Evaluating technical proposals from external vendors, ensuring they meet project specifications, feasibility, and technical strategies.
- Providing recommendations for vendor selection based on thorough assessments of technical proposals.
- Creating detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, and schedules for technical deliverables in partnership with external vendors on mechanical engineering designs and releases.
- Offering technical leadership and support to external partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identifying and resolving technical challenges that arise during project execution, collaborating with internal and external teams to develop effective solutions.
- Establishing and enforcing quality assurance processes and standards for hardware and software development, conducting regular reviews to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Facilitating effective communication and collaboration between internal stakeholders and external partners, providing regular updates on technical progress and project risks.
Who you are:
To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in leading mechanical design teams and managing external partnerships.
- Strong background in technical project management, particularly in mechanical and software development.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish.
- In-depth technical expertise in hardware design, systems engineering, and integration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical activities with external vendors and contractors.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of managing complex technical projects, delivering results on time and within budget.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while effectively managing multiple priorities.
