Contract Manager Job Description

As a Clinical Contract Manager, you'll play a critical role in achieving this mission by managing the preparation, negotiation, and finalization of contract templates, processes, and negotiation parameters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation and negotiation of contract templates, processes, and negotiation parameters, ensuring quality, objectivity, and risk analysis.
  • Influence the outcome of negotiations, ensuring conformity to business needs, proper risk allocation, and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders and customers, providing direction and guidance related to the contracting process.
  • Negotiate contentious issues at multiple levels, both internally and with the customer's negotiation team, while minimizing risk exposure.
  • Develop creative options to break through negotiation impasses that benefit all parties.
  • Improve the contracting process, making it more efficient, effective, and customer-centric.
  • Maintain and utilize the contract management system, tracking contract flow and contractual obligations.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and manufacturing sites and business units during the negotiation phase of a project.
  • Work in a matrixed environment to achieve results from disparate stakeholders, including sales, finance, marketing, legal, quality, and site management/operations.
  • Sell the value of the contracting role to the broader business.
