Position Title: Associate General Counsel

Department: Legal

Location: Madrid, Spain

Reporting To: Chief Legal Officer

Role Type: Hybrid, Full-time

Role Summary

As an Associate General Counsel, you will provide legal support for IPC's operations in the EMEA and US regions. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, you will engage with various internal stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

This role encompasses a wide range of in-house responsibilities within a prominent financial technology firm, including:

  • Negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial agreements pertinent to technology, such as customer agreements (including SaaS, licensing, CapEx, maintenance, and managed services agreements) and vendor agreements (including inbound licensing agreements).
  • Collaborating with sales, procurement, product management, operations, and finance teams regarding commercial contracts.
  • Providing legal guidance on commercial issues and risk management to support business teams.
  • Overseeing various in-house responsibilities with assistance from specialized external counsel.
  • Supporting the company secretarial function.
  • Negotiating, drafting, and advising on a variety of other agreements, including distributor agreements, intercompany agreements, and leases.

Key Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Qualified lawyer in Europe or the US.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience with commercial technology contracts.
  • Familiarity with financial technology is advantageous.
  • Energetic, bright, and committed to upholding the highest ethical standards.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedicated to fostering a culture of high performance.
  • Adept at developing practical solutions to complex challenges.
