Job Title: Teaching Assistant

The Inspired Education Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning and development.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support students in small group or whole class situations, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the development of resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Evaluate students' progress, providing detailed and regular feedback to teachers to inform instruction.
  • Lead small group sessions and interventions, fostering a love of learning and promoting social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Attend to students' personal needs, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid, and welfare matters.
  • Support with behaviour management, promoting a calm and respectful classroom environment.
  • Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, ensuring students have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Assist with the supervision of students out of lesson times, promoting a sense of community and responsibility.
  • Establish good relationships with students, promoting inclusion and acceptance of all individuals.
  • Support students with their learning and development, respecting local and national learning strategies.
  • Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities, promoting social skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Set challenging and demanding expectations, promoting self-esteem and independence.
  • Prepare the classroom for lessons, clearing afterwards and assisting with the display of students' work.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment/resources, assisting students in their use.
  • Undertake student record keeping, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers, promoting a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Provide administrative support as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Basic knowledge of organisation of learning in Early Years.
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young children aged between 3 and 5 years old.
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students.
  • Experience of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels.
