Role Summary
Our Customer Solutions Engineers (CSE) serve as essential technical allies for our clients and sales teams. The CSE will facilitate the technical integration process for Dow Jones' prospects, clients, and partners, ranging from innovative startups to highly respected global corporations. Beyond client interaction, the CSE team is responsible for defining best practices and architectural frameworks tailored to customer needs, while also incorporating emerging technologies and methodologies into proposed solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales and their prospects and clients to explore and optimize integration opportunities with Dow Jones data and services, providing design solutions and implementation guidance.
- Identify technical and business requirements from clients and propose appropriate technical solutions in a professional manner within agreed timelines.
- Showcase solutions that align with clients' business needs and address any technical and product inquiries throughout the sales process.
- Guide potential clients during their integration of Dow Jones data and services, including the development and management of proof of concepts.
- Share best practices and model designs with prospects and clients to support both technical development and internal approval processes.
- Provide insights to Dow Jones Product and Technology teams regarding emerging requirements, themes, and technology trends observed in client interactions.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the team's repository of best practices and processes.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and techniques that could benefit the role and the team.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Professional demeanor with a customer-centric approach.
- Over 5 years of experience in a customer-facing engineering role.
- Experience in software development utilizing Agile methodologies.
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL, Python, and NodeJS.
- Proven experience in conducting technical product demonstrations, including APIs.
- Strong business acumen and strategic problem-solving capabilities to address client requirements.
- Experience in responding to functional and technical aspects of RFIs/RFPs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery.
- Strong programming skills in any modern programming language.
- Experience with cloud services for data ingestion, processing, and storage.
- Understanding of machine learning techniques, especially Natural Language Processing (NLP) and text mining.
- Familiarity with Dow Jones products and business lines, including Factiva, Risk & Compliance, and Newswires.
