About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team at Canonical. As a Software Engineer, Ceph Storage Specialist, you will play a key role in the development and maintenance of our Ceph storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement high-quality, scalable software solutions for Ceph storage
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to ensure seamless integration and deployment of Ceph storage solutions
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues with Ceph storage systems
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Develop and maintain software for delivery, operations, and life-cycle management of Ceph storage
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related field
  • Experience with writing modern, maintainable Python code
  • Experience with Ceph storage and distributed systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Linux, Kubernetes, Public cloud, OpenStack, LXC/LXD, Python, Go, Debian packaging
