We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Ceph-focused software-defined storage solution team at Canonical. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the development of our storage infrastructure and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a globally distributed team of engineers in building and maintaining our Ceph-based storage solution.
- Develop and implement sound software architecture and best practices in software quality, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance modern, agile software development practices and maintain a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
- Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with our company values.
- Work closely with other leaders in the organization to drive technical strategy and execution.
- Proven experience in software engineering, preferably with Python and C++.
- Experience operating scale-out storage clusters on Linux in production environments, preferably with Ceph.
- Strong technical leadership skills, with a track record of developing and growing engineers.
- Knowledgeable and passionate about software development, with a focus on building products that improve how people operate software and infrastructure.
- Experience working in an agile development environment and leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers.
