Job Summary

Canonical is seeking a highly skilled Telco Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Field Engineering organization, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering open source cloud solutions to our customers in the telco industry.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented individual with a passion for open-source technologies and a strong understanding of cloud computing, networking, and software-defined services. As a Telco Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for leading customers through the design and delivery of OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined networking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Match customer requirements to advanced capabilities in the VNF/CNF/NFVi/NFVO/VNFM/VIM/MEC space
  • Provide technical pre-sales consulting to Service Provider teams
  • Design and implement telco-grade open source multi-tenant private clouds and micro clouds
  • Deploy cloud solutions for our customers (OpenStack, Kubernetes, MAAS, and Ceph)
  • Investigate, report and/or fix software defects uncovered during customer deployments
  • Demonstrate advanced Infrastructure as code (IaC) techniques relevant to telco (automation scripting, terraform, etc.)

What You'll Need

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, networking, and software-defined services
  • Experience with OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined networking
  • Excellent technical pre-sales consulting skills
  • Ability to design and implement telco-grade open source multi-tenant private clouds and micro clouds
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
