About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team at Canonical. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions for our Ceph storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality, scalable software solutions for Ceph storage systems
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to ensure seamless integration and deployment of software solutions
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues with Ceph storage systems
  • Contribute to technical documentation and best practices for Ceph storage systems
  • Develop and maintain software for delivery, operations, and life-cycle management of Ceph storage
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar field
  • Experience with writing modern, maintainable Python code
  • Experience with Ceph storage systems
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing and distributed systems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a remote-first environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating Ceph clusters in production
  • Experience with open source distributed storage systems
