Senior Software Engineer

Nordex Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team in the development of wind turbine control systems. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing software solutions for our wind turbines.
Key Responsibilities- Requirements Engineering: Coordinate with mechanical and electrical departments to define new wind turbine control requirements and create relevant software specification documents.
- Software Design: Design functional systems specifications for new and existing turbine types, considering modularity and hardware abstraction layer.
- Interface Management: Collaborate with mechanical and electrical departments and software developers to clarify system functionalities and software specifications.
- Proof of Concepts: Develop and qualify new ideas through Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
- Field Data Analysis: Analyze field data to define optimized functionality.
- Acceptance Testing: Define acceptance tests for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and field tests.
- Process Support: Support the wind turbine control end-to-end process from beginning to series.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, telecommunications, or a comparable field with a deep relation to software.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of work experience.
- Skills: Advanced knowledge in abstract and modularized thinking, good knowledge in PLC programming according to IEC61131, and experience with version control systems like SVN or Git.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, assertiveness, organizational talent, and intercultural competence.
- Language: English (very good written and spoken). Ideally, skills in German or Spanish.
