We are seeking a highly skilled Control Software Development Engineer to join our team at Nordex SE. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of control technology functions for our wind turbines.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop software functions for operational control of wind turbines and closed-loop controllers using Model-Based-Design and code generation approaches.
- Implement software functions on programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ensure compliance with IEC61131 standards.
- Define test and acceptance criteria for the qualification of closed-loop control systems.
- Conduct quality assurance through software testing on HiL setups and on-site at wind turbines.
- Develop and maintain related software documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and analyze complex control issues, identify patterns of faults and deviations, and develop corrective actions.
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Control, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in PLC software development using Matlab/Simulink, with IEC61131 knowledge a plus.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, Git, and SVN.
- Good understanding of industrial communications protocols (Profinet, ModBus TCP, CAN).
- Knowledge of control design techniques (Robust Control, Kalman Filters).
- Desirable experience in Predictive Control, Fault-Tolerant Control, System Identification, and Machine Learning Algorithms.
- English language proficiency (very good written and spoken), with German or Spanish skills a plus.
- Independent, reliable, and systematic work style, with strong communication and team skills.
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience.
- Availability for travel.
