Key Responsibilities- Coordinate new wind turbine control requirements with mechanical and electrical departments in an international team.
- Develop software specifications and design functional systems specifications for new and existing turbine types.
- Interface between mechanical and electrical departments and software developers to clarify system functionalities and software specifications.
- Design software architecture for optimal execution of the control solution in a PLC, considering criteria like modularity and hardware abstraction layer.
- Develop Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and qualify new ideas.
- Analyze field data and define optimized functionality.
- Define acceptance tests for HIL and field tests.
- Support the wind turbine control end-to-end process, from beginning to series.
- Successfully completed technical bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, telecommunications, or comparable with deep relation to software.
- Minimum work experience of 5-7 years.
- Advanced knowledge in abstract and modularized thinking and good knowledge in PLC programming according to IEC61131.
- Knowledge in the use of Matlab/Simulink is nice to have.
- Experiences in agile software development according to SCRUM are preferable.
- Experience with version control systems like SVN or Git.
- Good knowledge of different industrial communication protocols (Profinet, CAN, Modbus TCP, OPC-UA...) is required.
- Experience in the wind industry is welcome, but not mandatory.
- High results orientation and quality awareness combined with initiative as well as responsibility, structured and sustainable way of working.
- English (very good written and spoken). Ideally skills in German or Spanish.
- Strong communication skills, assertiveness, organizational talent, and intercultural competence.
- Reliability, flexibility, and accuracy are basic requirements.
- Good team player in an international team and very good interpersonal skills, strong communicator.
- Availability to travel.
