Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced International Director of Operations to lead our regional operations in a specific geographical area. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of all hotels within their assigned region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate hotel operations to ensure optimal performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Lead and manage daily hotel operations, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and service quality management.
  • Identify operational performance gaps and implement measures to correct deficiencies.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to align with departmental guidelines and priorities.
  • Implement and manage hotel quality processes, including goal setting, team empowerment, service recovery techniques, and problem resolution.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance, particularly hotel managers and departmental managers.
  • Control operating expenses and propose corrective initiatives.
  • Monitor P&L statements and STR reports.
  • Update policies and procedures for hotels in the assigned region in line with the company strategy.
  • Unify management systems criteria for all hotels in the assigned region.
  • Conduct audits of hotels in the assigned region and establish improvement plans where needed.
  • Identify and develop talents, working closely with the HR department.
  • Establish areas of improvement and implement strategies to improve scores.
  • Communicate effectively with hotel directors, Central Office, and COO.
  • Visit hotels and manage teams effectively, promoting a positive work environment and encouraging people development.
  • Perform 1-1 meetings with direct reports to support, help, and correct where needed.
  • Pre-open new hotels, revising new projects and coordinating pre-opening operations.
  • Prepare operational and payroll budgets for new hotels.
  • Implement brand SOPs and deliver on established goals with the COO.
  • Select new hotel directors and key positions with the HR department.
  • Promote and facilitate the success of new hotel teams.
  • Support the Business Development department in finding new hotel projects.
  • Ensure the success of Hotel Directors and drive results.

Requirements

  • Hospitality management or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years' experience with international hotel chains.
  • 2-year multi-property management experience.
  • Knowledge of PMS and POS.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, additional languages a plus.
  • Driving license B.
  • Flexibility to travel.
