Key Responsibilities- Oversee and manage offshore geophysical survey initiatives, including strategic route planning, equipment selection, and team organization.
- Direct and mentor survey teams during offshore missions, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project requirements.
- Guarantee compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and best practices related to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
- Assume the role of Survey Manager or Party Chief during field operations as needed.
- Supervise the deployment and functioning of geophysical survey instruments (e.g., MBES, SSS, SBP, magnetometers).
- Provide ongoing updates regarding survey progress, outcomes, and any emerging challenges.
- Compile detailed survey documentation, including reports, maps, and charts that encapsulate findings and analyses.
- Lead the Geophysical Team.
- Oversee the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of hydrographic data, ensuring quality assurance and control.
- Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ), collaborating closely with the QHSE team to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct pre-survey briefings with teams to clarify project goals, survey methodologies, safety measures, and environmental considerations.
- Willingness to travel as required (approximately 50%).
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Science, Geology, Topography, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree in Marine Geophysics or a closely related field is preferred.
- Relevant Certifications:
- STCW95 (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers)
- BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training)
- HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)
- A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in Marine Survey operations across various sectors, including cables, Oil & Gas, and Renewable Energy.
- Expertise in UXO surveys, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in this specialized field.
- Proven experience in vessel mobilization procedures, contributing to effective project execution.
- Extensive background in acquiring and processing hydrographic and geophysical data using advanced equipment such as UHRS, Side Scan Sonar, Multibeam & Singlebeam Echosounder, Sub-bottom Profiler, and Magnetometer.
- History of producing high-quality technical documentation, showcasing expertise and meticulous attention to detail.
- Accountability for maintaining stringent quality control standards and ensuring timely project delivery across a diverse range of multidisciplinary initiatives.
- Thorough understanding of surface and subsea positioning systems, including GNSS, INS, USBL, and other relevant technologies.
