Job Title: Senior Wind Project Developer

Job Summary:

EDP Renewables Germany GmbH is seeking a highly experienced Senior Wind Project Developer to join our team in northern Germany. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new wind energy projects, negotiating land leases, and representing the company with local stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Explore new wind energy project opportunities through targeted research and collaboration with internal teams.
  2. Develop and maintain a network of land scouts and originators in Germany.
  3. Qualify projects for integration into EDP's development process.
  4. Secure land through lease negotiations.
  5. Represent EDP with local stakeholders, including public and private actors, to introduce the company and make projects socially viable.
  6. Initiate environmental permitting processes and collaborate with internal resources.

Requirements:

  • At least 8-12 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on wind development in the DACH region.
  • Origination skills and ability to communicate across cultural barriers.
  • 2-3 years of experience in wind development, project management, and community handling.
  • Greenfield development experience and technical knowledge in the wind sector.
  • Hands-on approach, problem-solving skills, and interest in renewable energy.
  • Well-acquainted with the German regulatory system and its bureaucratic hurdles.
  • Able to communicate effectively with landowners and C-level executives.
  • Willing to handle multiple projects within a set timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BImSch Regulations, EEG, KraftNAV, and BESS knowledge.
  • Proficiency in MS Applications and specific project management tools.

Location: Northern Germany, with the possibility of working from home or EDP's office.

Language: German and English, with additional languages (Spanish) being a plus.
