Job Title: Selector Tomato

Rijk Zwaan Ibérica, SA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Tomato breeding team as a Selector Tomato. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing new tomato varieties for the winter protected cultivation market segment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new tomato varieties through phenotyping, evaluation, and administration of selection and variety trials.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand market needs and preferences.
  • Work closely with the lead breeder to develop innovative tomato varieties.
  • Participate in international travel to judge variety trials and establish relationships with customers and research institutes.
  • Set up variety trials with stakeholders and take part in strategic discussions about the breeding program.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in horticulture, agriculture, applied biology, or plant breeding.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Good command of English and Spanish language.
