We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tomato Breeder to join our team at Rijk Zwaan. As a key member of our Tomato department, you will be responsible for developing new and innovative tomato varieties for the winter protected cultivation market segment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and evaluate new tomato varieties, focusing on disease resistance, yield, and quality.
- Collaborate with our sales team to understand market needs and preferences.
- Work closely with our research team to identify and develop new plant concepts.
- Travel internationally to judge variety trials and participate in strategic discussions about our breeding program.
- Set up and manage variety trials with stakeholders, including customers and research institutes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in horticulture, agriculture, applied biology, or plant breeding.
- At least 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish languages.
