Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Data Center Facilities Engineer to join our team at Salute. As a key member of our data center operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure 100% uptime for temperature, humidity, power, and power usage effectiveness (PUE)/water usage effectiveness (WUE).
  • Plan and implement preventative maintenance, leveraging competent contractor/vendor resources to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Operations to plan and execute work on critical equipment, including generators, switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), power distribution units (PDUs), air handling units (AHUs), chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and building automation systems.
  • Develop and implement detailed methods of procedure for approval by the Manager of Operations.
  • Organize and log all testing of mission-critical equipment on site.
  • Ensure all work by contractors/vendors is in accordance with approved methods of procedure.
  • Respond to alarms, critical situations, and emergencies in a timely and proper manner.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders in accordance with the emergency response plan.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency standards, and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase energy efficiency without sacrificing continuity or uptime.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in electrical and mechanical engineering, with a focus on data center operations.
  • Proven track record of managing SLAs and ensuring high uptime for critical systems.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and critical situations.
  • Ability to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and improve quality and efficiency standards.
