Analog Devices (ADI) is on the lookout for a skilled Embedded Linux Software Engineer to become a vital part of our customer-oriented solutions team. This team is dedicated to supporting a diverse array of industry-leading high-performance linear solutions and standard products utilized in various applications, including industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare, and communication systems.
The Embedded Linux Software Engineer will take charge of crafting embedded device drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs) that connect our products to a variety of embedded processors, including FPGAs. Working within a collaborative, cross-functional team, the engineer will engage in the definition, development, implementation, and documentation of device drivers and BSPs. Additionally, they will assist the FPGA design team in testing, bring-up, and debugging, while also providing technical support to our global clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Linux device drivers and software projects tailored for embedded systems, processors, and microcontroller-based platforms.
- Collaborate closely with Linux mainline maintainers to ensure the acceptance of your drivers.
- Work in partnership with the hardware team to innovate and develop new platforms.
- Offer customer support through Linux subsystem mailing lists and the ADI Engineer Zone forum.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or Computer Science (CS) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the design, implementation, and support of embedded Linux device drivers and software.
- Proficient experience with at least one of the following subsystems: IIO, V4L, ALSA, Ethernet.
- Demonstrated expertise in various software development languages, including but not limited to C, C++, and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with Source Control Management (SCM) tools (svn, git), cross-compilation, and in-circuit debugging tools.
- Strong software design, problem-solving, and analytical debugging skills.
- A solid understanding of electronics and embedded systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to devise innovative solutions.
- Capacity to comprehend extensive and intricate technical documentation.
