About the Role

As a Senior Trade Compliance Specialist at Moderna, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with international trade regulations. This position will collaborate with the Global Trade Compliance team to ensure that all transactions meet legal requirements for filing complete and accurate export and import declarations with local customs and other government authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Trade Compliance team to ensure compliance with international trade regulations
  • Assist with managing day-to-day operations of compliance, including managing projects and tasks within the team and/or with external teams and/or vendors
  • Implement local and regional policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for internal and external operators (brokers/agents/freight forwarders)
  • Classify import/export goods consistent with the Harmonised Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Numbers (ECN)
  • Review and enter compliance data into SAP/GTS and other Moderna systems
  • Stay up-to-date with trade regulatory changes and challenges
  • Liaise with other stakeholders in the business to ensure compliance
  • Prepare and conduct continuing education on trade regulations
  • Prepare reports for internal management
  • Perform audits of import and export transactions
  • Maintain import/export records

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
