Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Power System and Converter Control Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced power system and converter control algorithms, as well as integrating and testing electrical simulation models.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced power system and converter control algorithms
- Integrate and test electrical simulation models, including DLLs and automatic generated code
- Test model performance and analysis results, and provide inputs to other departments
- Assess model performance against wind turbine capabilities and modelling issues
- Document activities, including design reports, validation reports, and user manuals
- Develop automatization tools to run simulations and create reports automatically
Requirements
- Power System engineering: transmission and distribution networks, grid elements, power transformers, power cables, reactive power compensation devices, protection and distribution of MV grids
- Power electronics, electrical machines, harmonics analysis, converter control engineering, power electronic converter design and control, control theory and application, power electronic drives, vector current control, Pulse Width Modulation, grid forming control systems, real-time embedded control and implementation
- Power system studies: transient stability, electromagnetic transients simulation, dynamic studies, simulation and modeling of control and electrical systems, small signal stability analysis of power systems
- Software skills: PSCAD, Fortran, C programming, MATLAB and Simulink, RSCAD (real-time digital simulator)
Preferred Qualifications
- Desirable experience with wind turbine technologies, type-3 and type-4
