Why is this position significant?

The Strategic Category Leader plays a crucial role in steering the category vision and formulating comprehensive long-term strategies that foster sustainable growth for Beam Suntory. This position is integral in shaping growth initiatives and aligning commercial and brand objectives in collaboration with Marketing, Revenue Growth, and Sales teams.

This individual is a collaborative team member, tasked with enhancing customer relationships to achieve category-level growth through the delivery of strategic insights grounded in macro trends, category-specific data, and shopper behaviors.

The Strategic Category Leader is accountable for developing and directing the category strategy for the Beam Suntory portfolio. This role is designed to bridge the company and its customers, continuously identifying mid- to long-term growth opportunities and the strategic roles our portfolio plays within them. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the category, the roles of various channels and retailers, and their respective category strategies and priorities, while working closely with Marketing, Sales, Insights, Revenue Growth, and Planning teams.

Essential Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 10 years in FMCG Category Management

• Preferred 2 years in FMCG National Account Sales Management

• University Degree in Commerce or Business Discipline (preferred)

• Advanced Project Management skills

• Proficient in database tools (Nielsen, IRI, Kantar)

• Strong analytical skills with a solid foundation in statistics, mathematics, or business analytics

• Expertise in applying shopper and behavioral insights

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
