Job Title: Master Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Master Researcher to join our Computational Biology group at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. The successful candidate will work on a protein coevolution project, focusing on the identification of species-specific protein interactions in bacteria using phylogenetics and coevolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and test protocols to fine-tune and apply predictive models for studying relevant biological problems involving proteins.
  • Perform sequence and structural-based analyses of proteins using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Collaborate with the research team to prepare and present research projects, and participate in internal group meetings and scientific discussions.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments and good programming skills in Python.
  • Experience with structural biology analysis tools, such as ChimeraX and ICM.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with data analysis tools, such as pandas and matplotlib.
  • Knowledge of machine learning tools, such as scikit-learn.
