Quality Assurance Engineer for Suppliers

Giesecke+Devrient is a leading global provider of security technologies, specializing in both physical and digital solutions. Within our G+D Mobile Security division, recognized as the foremost authority in secure telecommunications systems via SIM/eSIM, we are currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer based in Barcelona. The primary duties of the Supplier Quality Engineer include:
- Conducting onsite inspections (e.g., pre-shipment assessments) to verify that products comply with specifications and company standards.
- Collaborating with suppliers to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues and process failures.
- Engaging with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Executing periodic supplier audits.
- Managing supplier process changes and coordinating with regional and global quality teams for reviews and approvals.
- Qualifying new supplier sites through audit execution and closure.
- Monitoring and assessing supplier performance metrics.
- Partnering with Strategic Purchasing on Supplier Business Reviews.
- Investigating supplier complaints and generating 8D reports.
Quality Claim Management:
- Overseeing customer and supplier claim processes, which includes:
- Identifying responsible parties (subsidiaries, suppliers, and functions).
- Conducting initial failure analyses (failure verification).
- Verifying preventive measures and preparing 8D reports for customer service.
- Ensuring timely management and resolution of customer claims.
Additional Quality Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Quality Manager with periodic KPI reporting to headquarters.
- Guiding complaint owners in utilizing quality control tools for root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Supporting customer audits at supplier locations.
- Providing assistance as needed regarding supplier quality-related issues.
- Managing generic purchase and delivery specifications, as well as specifications for subcontracting.
- Ensuring the availability of necessary documentation for raw material inspections.
- Defining inspection control plans and maintaining records.
- Supporting entrance inspections.
- Tracking KPIs in your area and making informed decisions based on them.
