RWE Renewables is a leading company in the renewable energy sector, driving the expansion of renewables in over 20 countries on five continents. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Project Manager to join our team in Spain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Development: Deliver assigned projects from early stage through the investment decision and handover to the construction & operations team, following RWE Renewable Group standards and project management guidelines.
- Permitting Process: Manage the permitting process, including the preparation and/or review of documentation for EIA and Permits, relationships with authorities, and representation of RWE's interests.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and cultivate relationships with landowners and local communities to establish a positive link and ensure project success.
- Project Optimization: Improve project competitiveness by challenging assumptions to reduce LCoE and/or improve LRoE, in cooperation with the Investment Manager.
- Project Coordination: Manage directly or coordinate external consultants for site pre-selection, environmental constraints analysis, wind potential assessment, layout definition and optimization, land leases agreements, environmental impact assessment approval, and building permit achievement.
Requirements:
- Experience: Significant work experience (3-5 years+) in solar and/or wind development in Spain.
- Performance Orientation: Demonstrate performance orientation, self-motivation to drive business, increase performance, and deliver results.
- Market Knowledge: Proven knowledge of the Spanish Renewables market, competence in scouting and consenting process in Spain, and a proven network.
- Commercial Awareness: Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of key commercial drivers to the energy sector.
- Leadership: Ability to lead, develop, inspire, manage, and delegate effectively across geographies.
- Collaboration: Ability to collaborate globally in cross-functional teams and effectively communicate internally & externally.
- Self-Reflection: Self-reflective personality, able to learn and act on feedback.
- Strategic Thinking: Show strategic thinking capabilities, push boundaries to grow the business.
- Continuous Improvement: Show continuous improvement attitude by constantly optimizing the business.
- Education: Degree in engineering, business administration, economics, law, or comparable studies.
- Track Record: Strong track record of utility-scale solar and/or onshore wind project development.
- Communication Skills: Very good communication skills and high-level assertiveness and communication skills in an international environment.
- Cultural Awareness: Appreciation for cultural differences.
- Travel: Willingness to travel.
- Language: Fluent in Spanish and English.
