About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY SPAIN, S.A.U. as a Junior Field Service Technician - Power Transformer Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, repair work, and other service-related activities on medium and large power transformers.
  • Exceed customer expectations by understanding and anticipating current and potential needs.
  • Utilize analytical skills to make decisions on complex and technical issues.
  • Read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings, instruction manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Operate computers and software to set up functions, enter data, and process information related to site visits.
  • Perform internal work such as bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping, taping, and contoured joints.
  • Suggest product and process improvements to enhance operations and customer service.
  • Ensure all site work meets proper safety requirements.
  • Live HITACHI ENERGY's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions and caring for colleagues and the business.
  • Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble equipment as directed, using mechanical hand tools.
  • Participate in department administrative tasks and follow scheduling and administrative procedures.
  • Participate in technical training and prepare technical reports following site work.
  • Operate and maintain Vacuum Oil Processors (VOP's) and oil handling equipment, completing vacuum oil processing logs.
  • Have a strong understanding of transformer theory and construction.

  • Ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings, instruction manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in technical training and professional development.
