EMEA Data Privacy Compliance Leader
The EMEA Data Privacy Compliance Leader will work collaboratively with various business divisions and central corporate functions to ensure that compliance objectives are in harmony with business priorities. This role is accountable for the ongoing development, communication, and auditing of Westinghouse's privacy framework, fostering adherence to relevant privacy, data, and information protection regulations. Additionally, this position will spearhead internal outreach initiatives, key projects, cross-border transfer protocols, program mandates, and strategic resources for the global privacy framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage expertise to oversee components of the global data privacy compliance initiative, ensuring alignment with Westinghouse's privacy standards in the EMEA region.
- Guarantee that the global data privacy initiative is consistent with Westinghouse's strategic and operational goals.
- Formulate and refine global policies and procedures for Westinghouse's privacy framework in accordance with local data privacy regulations, including tools to ensure that business operations and data transfers comply with global standards.
- Critically assess EMEA program risks and vulnerabilities, managing teams to implement necessary mitigation strategies.
- Lead significant privacy and business projects, transparently documenting privacy risks for stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Collaborate strategically with internal and external stakeholders within EMEA and globally with Data Privacy teams to advance Westinghouse's privacy objectives.
- Encourage understanding of data privacy requirements among others, showcasing adaptability, sound judgment, decision-making capabilities, analyzing trade-offs, and providing recommendations in uncertain scenarios.
- Oversee, investigate, and document privacy incidents, conducting special inquiries and investigations as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and over 10 years of professional experience, with proven expertise in Privacy, technology policy, compliance, and risk management roles.
- IAPP practitioner certification (CIPP/E) or equivalent.
- Proficient in Data Privacy, capable of operating on an international scale, demonstrating strategic insight, and influencing leadership decisions.
- Familiarity with privacy principles, national privacy regulations, and the ability to engage in complex projects or challenges.
- Capability to manage teams, develop external policy and strategy, with experience in the technology sector.
- Self-motivated, able to achieve specific outcomes, collaborate across teams, and partner effectively with individuals from diverse professional backgrounds.
- Adaptability in managing fluctuating workloads, unpredictable processes, and repetitive tasks.
