Key Responsibilities- Drive Technical Evolution: Lead the technical evolution of one or more backend microservices in our platform.
- Technical Leadership: Be the go-to person for lead engineers and senior developers for all questions regarding coding, design, and tools.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with multiple teams (~30 developers) to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Business Partnership: Help business and product in scoping and phasing ideas already in their backlogs.
- Contribution: Contribute ideas to backlogs to help business and product teams with their challenges.
- Mentorship: Mentor lead and senior engineers in their technical growth.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with other architects in cross-team, company-level technical initiatives.
- Technical Expertise: 8+ years of backend development experience in Java.
- Education: BS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Skills: Software coding, design patterns, architecture, and performance engineering.
- Communication: Communication with both technical and non-technical people.
- Assertiveness: Assertiveness and influencing: able to get your point across and challenge those of others in a calm and positive manner.
- Microservices Experience: Experience designing microservices.
- Language Experience: Experience in other languages and platforms (e.g., JavaScript, Groovy, Swift).
- Machine Learning: Experience with machine learning systems.
- Ecommerce Experience: Experience in big multi-language/country ecommerce websites.
- Travel Sector: Experience in the travel sector.
