Role Overview: As a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and upkeep of the automation testing framework, enhancing the efficiency of our testing processes.
  • Develop reusable functions to bolster the adaptability and maintainability of test scripts.
  • Oversee the deployment and installation phases, ensuring effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with management, developers, and other departments to deliver exceptional software solutions.
  • Participate in defect review sessions, providing insights and resolutions to assist the development team in understanding software issues.
  • Conduct automation testing for each software build and release, delivering comprehensive reports on the results.
  • Guide and mentor a team of testers, offering support to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Establish and uphold quality assurance protocols and best practices.
  • Implement test automation tools and frameworks to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Take charge of the overall automation testing initiatives, including training fellow test engineers and enforcing automation testing standards.
  • Engage actively in Scrum team meetings and comply with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) protocols.
  • Facilitate reviews of the test automation framework code, test logic, and feature specifications.
  • Prepare and present reports on testing progress, metrics, and defect statuses to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all deliverables adhere to regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, cases, results, and defect logs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in software testing, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and testing cloud applications.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and integrating test frameworks utilizing Azure DevOps, Jira Xray, Jenkins, JMeter, Selenium, BDD, and Java.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi-layered work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Understanding of performance and security testing.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
