About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Destinus, a pioneering aerospace technology company. As a key member of our R&D engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing cutting-edge aerospace components and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead design projects for aerospace components and systems from conceptualization to manufacturing, integration, and testing
  • Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other related documentation required for manufacturing and testing
  • Deliver technical documentation, including engineering calculations, analysis, and assumptions to substantiate design decisions and solutions
  • Participate in design reviews and manage suppliers and manufacturers to address technical questions and resolve issues during the manufacturing process
  • Select standard parts, fasteners, equipment, and consumables following best practices and industry standards
  • Contribute to the Design Management Unit (DMU) and configuration management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; Technician qualifications with substantial experience also considered
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the aerospace industry
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes, including machining, sheet metal forming, composites, and additive manufacturing
  • Excellent CAD and PLM knowledge, including part design, DWGs, and DMU management
  • Good engineering material properties knowledge and strong engineering fundamentals and analytical skills
  • ISO GD&T knowledge required; proficiency in Siemens tool suite (NX, TeamCenter PLM system) a plus
  • Fluent in English as working language; Spanish language beneficial
