Global Policy Manager for Misinformation and Disinformation

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Policy Manager to join our Government Affairs and Public Policy team at Google. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping our approach to content regulation and the future of the open web.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement policy positions, papers, and programs to address misinformation, disinformation, AI, and content responsibility.
  2. Engage with policymakers, industry players, academia, and key opinion formers to advocate for Google's interests and bring external perspectives back into the company.
  3. Analyze and respond to policy and legislative proposals, helping develop negotiation positions and strategies.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Trust and Safety, Product, Engineering, and Communications, to advise on responsible policy and product development.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns, with a focus on technology issues or the policy environments that surround them.
  • 7+ years of experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.
  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent political, problem-solving, and communication skills.
