Database Administrator Job Description

At IFS, we're seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our Database Services Team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality Oracle Database-related services for our IFS Cloud Suite applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily DB operations, following established processes and procedures.
  • Act as a DBA resource to support and maintain our Database services.
  • Escalate challenging issues with our database services and work with internal and external teams to resolve them.
  • Implement and manage backup solutions to meet our own and customer needs.
  • Monitor and manage database availability within our cloud database services.
  • Work with R&D and CSA teams to improve the IFS product set and address performance issues.
Requirements:
  • At least 2-3 years' experience in Oracle Database administration, preferably in cloud computing or enterprise IT service delivery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud computing services or IT service management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with modern ticket/service desk tools, such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Desk.
  • ITIL, ISO 20000, or similar service delivery framework experience is a plus.
  • Formal qualification in Computer Science/Information Technology or relevant certifications are desirable.
Working Environment:

The role involves working 24/7 on an 8-hour shift pattern, with extra hours possible to discharge all associated duties. You'll work remotely and occasionally attend office meetings. Our team culture emphasizes inclusion, flat hierarchies, and a pleasant working atmosphere.
