As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Oracle Database-related services for all applications within the IFS Cloud Suite.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform daily database operations, following established processes and procedures.
- Act as a DBA resource to assist with daily duties, address issues with client systems, and provide guidance on database administration best practices.
- Serve as the final point of escalation for challenging database issues, working closely with internal and external teams to resolve problems.
- Collaborate with the Cloud Services Team to implement and manage backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Monitor database performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize database performance.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, working closely with the Cloud Services Team to ensure business continuity.
- Implement and manage database monitoring tools, ensuring proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Work with the Automation Team to automate database-related tasks, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams, ensuring database administration best practices are shared across the organization.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in Oracle Database administration, with a strong background in cloud computing and IT service management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud computing services, IT service management methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with modern ticketing tools, such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Desk.
- ITIL, ISO 20000, or similar service delivery framework experience is a plus.
- Formal qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology are desirable, but not mandatory.
- Vendor-provided technical certifications, such as CCNA, OCP, or MCSA, are also beneficial.
- Citizenship of the European Union or a corresponding work permit in Poland.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with business fluent English.
- Ability to work to deadlines, targets, and needs of the role.
- Self-motivation, proactivity, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience with implementing and managing critical production systems, especially in the cloud.
- Strong awareness of customer-driven priorities and commercial pressures.
- Experience with supporting multi-tenant Oracle databases (CDB/PDB).
- Administering Oracle databases (minimum 12c) on Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Performance tuning, AWR/ASH/ADDM/TKPROF/tracing sessions, and OEM experience.
- Backup/restore experience with RMAN, data pump export/import.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, dataguard setup, and troubleshooting.
- Database cloning experience with RMAN active duplicate.
- Linux shell scripting experience with bash, PowerShell, and Windows Command.
- Experience with database upgrades (12c to 19c and above) and patching.
- Working within a strict ticketing system, such as Service Now or JIRA.
