Job Title: Process Development Chemist

About the Role:

Farmhispania is seeking a highly skilled Process Development Chemist to join our team. As a key member of our Process Development department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing chemical processes for large-scale production.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process Development: Design and develop chemical processes for large-scale production, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality.
  2. Experimentation and Testing: Conduct experiments to test the suitability of chemical processes, using analytical methods and tools to monitor reaction processes and product quality.
  3. Process Optimization: Evaluate and propose different synthetic alternatives, considering chemical complexity, profitability, intellectual property, and EHS aspects.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Analytical Development, to ensure seamless project execution and effective communication with stakeholders.
  5. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain familiarity with Regulatory Guidelines and requirements, including cGMP, to ensure compliance and quality standards.

Requirements:

  1. Education: A degree in chemistry or a related discipline is required.
  2. Languages: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish are required, with a commitment to learning/improving Spanish to at least a B1 level.
  3. Skills and Experience: Proven technical experience in the fine chemicals industry, with expertise in chemical synthesis and process development, analytical techniques, and literature searches.
  4. Personal Qualities: Self-motivation, creativity, flexibility, initiative, and good management of priorities are essential for success in this role.

Desired Experience:

  1. Proven experience in chemical synthesis and process development.
  2. Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, NMR.
  3. Ability to effectively perform literature searches using available tools such as SciFinder.
  4. Experience using Design of Experiment (DOE) principles.
