Senior Staff Engineer Process Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer Process Development to join our team at BD. As a key member of our Intelligent Automation team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with DTO Intelligent Automation leadership and key staff members to develop site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps inclusive of digital solutions, machine learning, and commonality of technical solutions across other sites.
- Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.
- Work closely with manufacturing site teams to conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending appropriate technological solutions.
- Manage external contractors and vendors for process development and technology transfer projects.
- Collaborate with the DTO team members and other required functions to develop and implement playbooks for implementation and replication of intelligent automation technology solutions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues, improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures when required.
- BS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Computer Engineering/Software Systems.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible engineering experience in manufacturing engineering, Automation design and development, technology transfer, assessment of product manufacturability, industrial engineering, and project engineering preferably in a regulated industry (Medical Device, Pharma, etc) or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Intelligent Automation solutions and digital Transformations including machine learning, Vision and controls engineering, AMR's, Cobots/Robotics, AI, GenAI, and Data analytics.
- Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling the ability to influence decisions based on sound rationale.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- MS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, Computer Engineering/Software Systems.
- Project Management Training and/or Certification.
- Industry 4.0 Training and/or Certification.
- Proficient in process analysis, process modelling and simulation software, and statistical analysis.
- Experience with process improvement tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Knowledge of automation and control systems, such as SCADA and PLC.
