About the Role

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Device OS team. As a key member of this team, you will provide technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development, integration, test, documentation, and support of platform software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the software design, documentation, development, engineering approach, delivery, and support of Device OS security and privacy.
  • Be responsible for the architecture and design of software solutions, especially in the area of device security and privacy, determining current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems, selecting new concepts and methodologies, and developing key routines and utilities.
  • Dive deep into a difficult problem, identify the root cause, and provide an appropriate solution.
Requirements
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Experience leading the architecture and design of new and current systems.
  • Experience in professional, non-internship software development.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
  • Experience in embedded development in C/C++.
  • Knowledge of ARM CPUs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
