About the Role

We are seeking a Hydrogen Engineer to join our Energy Systems business unit in SEMELA (Southern Europe, Middle-East, Africa and Latin America). The successful candidate will support our team with expertise on Hydrogen technologies for delivering technical advisory services across the SEMELA region.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain hydrogen production models in Python.
  2. Execute or manage Hydrogen related advisory projects, including feasibility studies, technology review, technical due diligence, conceptual design, technical specifications, procurement support, EPC/O&M contract review, design review, construction progress monitoring, testing and commissioning, report writing, presentations, and courses.
  3. Extend your external network and identify sales and market-led opportunities for energy storage, generating leads, quality proposals, and closing deals in cooperation with the Market Area Managers for the region.
  4. Analyze new business opportunities, gather market intelligence, and ensure distribution of knowledge among relevant colleagues.
  5. Build an internal network to gain and share knowledge and opportunities.
Requirements
  1. 3+ years' experience in the (renewable) energy sector.
  2. Energy systems Modelling experience and ability/experience to develop hourly dispatch models for hybrid projects including renewable energy, hydrogen production, and its derivatives.
  3. Intermediate to advanced programming skills in Python (+1 year experience in Python programming, preferably applied to renewable energy and/or green hydrogen).
  4. Networking - builds good personal and professional relationships.
  5. Experience of building long-term client relationships.
  6. Advanced level of English. Spanish would be a plus.
  7. Good IT skills, and experienced in using MS Office suite packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Technical expertise in Electrolysers and Electrolysis or Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  2. Project development or EPC experience with energy storage or renewables.
  3. Knowledge of transmission & distribution networks and experience in load flow modelling.
  4. Knowledge of renewables (wind, PV) technology & project development.
  5. Familiarity with contracts (construction, supply, operations, interconnection, offtake, and/or asset management).
