This person understands the market landscape and Vertex’s position within the market, leads the country Commercial Haematology team and all business activities aligned with performance goals of the portfolio and tracks performance against those goals. The Haematology Commercial Associate Director Spain reports to the Country General Manager and becomes part of the Country leadership team to contribute to strengthen the local business in alignment with all cross‑functional team members. The Haematology Country Associate Commercial Director will be a core member of the International Heme Operating Committee.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the country commercial strategy for the Haematology business in alignment with the International Commercial strategic objectivesShape and build the Haematology organization by hiring and setting the country visionLead the commercial haematology field teamUnderstand the value drivers of Vertex, lead the business and identify profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market shareLaunch Vertex’s first investigational genetic therapy for hemoglobinopathies (sickle cell disease – SCD and transfusion‑dependent beta thalassemia – TDT) in SpainDevelop and maintain an excellent understanding of key physicians and haematology centres, to ensure that their needs are being met and that their business is retainedLead the identification and activation of Authorized Treatment Centres (ATCs) at the country levelMaintain an awareness of external factors (including competitors, government business initiatives, current and proposed legislation in relation to commercial activities) which impact the Haematology businessChampion and lead each new product or service development, from innovation through to successful implementation across each business function, to enable it to become a core part of the businessDevelop and execute multiple digital and educational campaigns for the SCD & TDT patient and HCP communitiesPartner with VP of International Haematology, IHQ Commercial haematology team, and international functional leads to shape the international Haem strategy and brand life‑cycle activitiesContribute to the access and reimbursement strategy in the countryEnsure that regular reviews are carried out with customers to meet their needs and achieve excellent customer service, and develop future improvements/services for the customersRepresent the company externally at networking events, conferences and exhibitions to enhance and strengthen the company’s profile and optimise all business development opportunitiesEnsure that all Haematology commercial activities meet or improve on budget, revenue, cost, volume and efficiency targets (Key Performance Indicators – KPIs) in line with business objectivesImplement company policies and procedures, ensuring 100% compliance at all timesWork and collaborate cross‑functionally within Vertex to smooth country operation and ensure that customer needs are metKnowledge and SkillsStrong leadership skills, demonstrating a robust people leadership track record and significant experience in the biotech industry dealing with Haematology and/or rare diseasesProven commercial launch/in‑market experience of the Cell and Gene Therapy, Haematology or rare disease including unlicensed medicinesDeep knowledge and understanding of the country healthcare market for Gene Therapies, Haematology or rare diseaseFluent in EnglishSolid understanding of the compliance framework with a high level of integrityCapacity to lead and motivate people in a matrix organizationInnovative with entrepreneurial flairHands‑on approach, with a ‘can‑do’ attitudeAbility to work in a highly dynamic and fast‑growing organization with demonstrated capability to be at ease in a matrix structure with ability to influenceStrong and successful background in sales and marketing or as a Business Unit leadResults driven and passionate about achieving high levels of excellenceCustomer focusedAbility to oversee generation xsgfvud of insights and apply those insights to business problems/opportunities and make strategic recommendationsGood communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels and ability to influence at a senior level, both internally and externallyAbility to build strong external relationships to enhance and strengthen the company’s profileDemonstrated ability to develop strategy, make strategic recommendations, and monitor performanceStrong learning agility & Expert negotiating and influencing skillsNumerate with strong analytical and problem‑solving ability, attention to detailExcellent project management skills with strong ability to prioritiseCommitted to learning and developmentEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in life science, business or marketingTypically requires 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in sales, marketing or commercial excellence roles, including 2 years or more of experience in sales management and/or sales learning and development/coaching roles, and 2 years of supervisory/management experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experienceFlex DesignationHybrid-Eligible Or On-Site EligibleIn this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as :Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; orOn-Site: work five days per week on‑site with ad hoc flexibility#J-18808-Ljbffr
