We have over 550 team members worldwide dedicated to building a safe, transparent marketplace.Role OverviewThe Buyer Development Director will lead and grow buy-side partnerships across Spain, working closely with major agency holding companies, their operating agencies, and key independent buyers. Based in Madrid, the role will shape Index’s buyer strategy, commercial presence, and revenue growth in the Spanish market.ResponsibilitiesOwn and grow senior-level relationships with agency holding companies and key buyers across Spain.Drive revenue growth, marketplace adoption, and long-term partnership value.Act as a trusted advisor on supply-path optimisation, marketplace quality, curation, data activation, and supply innovation.Take responsibility for market-level performance, partnership health, and commercial outcomes.Identify new demand opportunities across agency groups, operating agencies, and emerging buying models.Oversee forecasting, reporting, and quarterly business reviews with internal and external stakeholders.Partner with Product teams to share market feedback and influence future product development and strategic planning.Track Spanish buy-side trends and competitive dynamics, sharing insights with senior leadership.Represent Index at industry events and key partner forums across Spain.Work closely with Account Management teams to activate agency strategies, deals, and marketplace initiatives tied to premium supply.What We’re Looking ForStrategic:Strong point of view on market trends, buyer operating models, and supply strategy; guide holdings and agencies in programmatic decisions.Collaborative:Cross-functional work with Buyer Account Management, Operations, Product, and Publisher teams; internal owner of buyer relationships and subject-matter expert.Communicative:Senior client-facing role; comfortable engaging with traders, programmatic leads, and senior commercial leaders.Technical & Consultative:Deep programmatic expertise and understanding of Index’s marketplace and buyer products; provide aligned solutions to Spanish buyers.Required Experience & Qualifications8+ years in digital media with deep knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem (SSP, DSP, exchange, PMP, agency trading desk, ad server, etc.).Strong understanding of the Spanish buy-side market, including holding-company structures and buying models.Proven success in senior, buyer-facing commercial roles within an exchange, DSP, or programmatic sales environment.Experience building executive-level relationships within complex, matrixed organisations.Confidence delivering technical explanations, education, and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.Fluency in Spanish and professional working proficiency in English.BenefitsComprehensive health, dental, and vision plans.Paid time off, health days, and personal obligation days plus flexible work schedules.Competitive retirement matching plans.Equity packages.Generous parental leave for all parents.Annual well-being allowance, fitness discounts, and group wellness activities.Employee assistance program.Mental health first-aid program.One day of volunteer time off per year and donation-matching program.Bi-weekly town halls and regular community-led team events.Continuous learning resources and programming.Inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Equal Employment OpportunityAt Index Exchange, we believe that successful products are built by teams just as diverse as the audience who use them.
