The role reports directly to the Head of Sales.About the Company & Work EnvironmentYoung, international, and fast‑growing company.Environment with strong potential for personal and professional development.Position based in Barcelona with a hybrid work model.Equal‑opportunity employer where hiring and development decisions are based on merit, competence, performance, and business needs.Role MissionLead B2B business development within the life sciences/biotech space, autonomously managingthe full sales cycle —from prospecting to negotiation and closing—while building long‑term, trust‑based customer relationships.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Prospecting & Market DevelopmentIdentify and proactively reach out to key decision‑makers (e.g., R&D Directors, Process Chemistry Leads, Sourcing Heads).Execute outreach strategies to build a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.Share feedback with product and strategy teams regarding market trends and key industry pain points.2. Full Sales‑Cycle ManagementIndependently manage the entire commercial process: qualification and needs assessment, proposal development and presentation, negotiation, and closing.Clearly articulate the value of the enzyme discovery and engineering platform, tailoring the message to each client’s needs.Lead complex negotiations involving multiple stakeholders (R&D, Procurement, Legal) and manage high‑value deal closures.3. Client Relationship Management & Account GrowthAct as a trusted partner beyond contract signature.Oversee client relationships during and after project delivery to ensure satisfaction and continuity.Identify new needs within existing accounts to drive recurring business and account expansion.Build relationships with new clients, with the mid‑term goal of managing a portfolio of strategic accounts.RequirementsExperience:3–5 years in B2B sales, ideally in biotech, pharma/generics, life sciences, or API manufacturing.Process knowledge:Understanding of the drug development cycle, especially process development and manufacturing.Customer orientation:Proven ability to build strong, long‑term client relationships.Commercial skills:Proactive, opportunity‑driven, and disciplined in pipeline management and deal closure.Education:Degree in a scientific field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or similar).Languages:Fluent English.
