PATIENT ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY

At Alira Health, the Patient Engagement is a complete transversal function working in constant collaboration with the rest of practices with specific focus on clinical research and market access, as well as the technology platforms designed to support patients throughout their journey. Currently, it brings together 11 people in Spain, Canada and Italy, multidisciplinary experts, with deep knowledge of the different patient engagement methodologies, all passionate about topics ranging from patient advisory boards, market research with patients and caregivers, patient centricity strategy to patient mobilization and support programs.

The Patient Engagement Team supports a wide variety of clients - Pharma, Biotech and MedTech manufacturers and healthcare providers
- in defining better ways to support the real needs of patients and secure their implementation throughout the life cycle management.

THE CONSULTANT ROLE

The Consultant is a critical member of the Alira Health team. Consultants work closely with Senior Consultants and the Associate Director of Patient Engagement to solve challenging client questions.

The Consultant will primarily be involved in country level and global projects indistinctively and will be involved from the initial definition of the strategy and planning until its complete execution, also by supervising and mentoring the teams assigned to each project.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (not exhaustive, not definitive list)

Project work (approx. 85% of time)

Patient Advisory Boards
- Identify main areas of interest for discussion according to project objective
- Build moderation guide in constant contact and agreement with the client
- Prepare educational materials for patients
- Recruit and train patients
- Moderate the session or support the moderator if it’s a member from another Practice
- Deliver final report to client with main insights and potential solutions

Patient Market & User Research
- Understand the objective of the client to set up the research framework
- Coordinate necessary secondary research to build foundation of the moderation guide
- Plan de complete logistics and execution process and kick off with the client
- Recruit patients. Organize and execute interviews
- Keep regular contact with client to secure alignment
- Collect and report insights to deliver to client
- Advocate for human-centered solutions in strategic discussions with internal and external stakeholders considering projects’ feasibility

Patient Centricity Strategy
- Scan and diagnose current situation of the client
- Set up strategies and action plans based on patient-centric methodologies such as design thinking and behavioral design, enabled by technology with the aim of co-creating new solutions with the client, patients and all relevant stakeholder in within the defined problem statement scenario
- Define a new roadmap for the company to focus their new vision towards the patient, with all functions working transversally

Business Development (up to 15% of time)
- Research organizations/individuals to identify new potential leads and generate new market opportunities.
- Regularly contact prospects, former clients and current clients regarding the company’s products and services.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, develop customized quotes and proposals.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- University degree with an excellent academic record, preferably in pharmacy, life sciences, public health, economic background, design engineering, or anthropology.
- At least 2 years of professional experience within the pharmaceutical or med-tech industry, public agencies, or healthcare consultancy companies or user-centered design.
- Proficiency in user-centered design methodologies, methods and processes applied to the healthcare industry.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to problem-solve unstructured or ambiguous challenges.
- Proactive and solution oriented.
- Flexible to accommodate changing priorities, with a positive and “can-do” attitude.
- Excellent business English, both written and verbal.
- Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
- Self-starter who thrives in collaborative, yet less structured team environment.
- Any additional European Language is a plus (German in particular).

- May have supervisory role of,directly or indirectly, associates, interns/analysts
