The Solutions Consultant is an integral part of the proposal team and is involved with presenting the results to Dematic management as well as to the potential customer. During the quotation period, the Solutions Consultant is one of the main drivers for design, validation and quotation efforts. After contract award, the Solutions Consultant is expected to facilitate the transition of the quoted project to the project execution team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and proactive engineer to really push the boundaries to utilize creative problem-solving skills that will drive further innovation resulting in new business and resulting in continual improvement in programs, processes, practices, and initiatives. This position will serve as a trusted advisor to Dematic's customers, internal stakeholders, and key executives.

**Tasks and Qualifications**:
The position will be required to perform the following duties:

- Completes and coordinates the design and estimating of materials handling systems.
- Has a thorough knowledge of the project specifications and checks all work being performed under his/her direction for adherence to these specifications.
- Produces material list of equipment, design of all special devices and Mechanical and/or Controls Engineering pricing.
- Solicit, quote, and review costs of equipment and services.
- Works with Purchasing to manage the interface relationships with vendors and assists in evaluating the performance of vendors and subcontractors.
- Liaises with the client on multiple levels in order to reach an agreed technical design
- Provides a check for technical, cost and contracting aspects of quotes and serves as the major contact for intra-company departments and vendors. Schedules technical reviews and price review meetings.
- Keep management apprised of quote status.
- Keeps abreast of the latest company and industry-wide concepts, product design and developments, and current costing.
- Occasional travel is required in this position. Usually trips are planned and are of short duration. However, requests for travel on short notice may be made and extended travel is sometimes required for project handovers and sales support workshops.
- May be exposed to next level or cross functional duties and responsibilities.
- May perform pre-sales support activities as needed.
