Senior Researcher Development of Thermochemical

The incorporation of the selected person would be made to the Thermal Storage department of the research center.
- Design and synthesis of new thermochemical materials optimized for long-term storage of solar or residual heat
- Characterization of the thermal, electrical, mechanical, structural and chemical properties of thermochemical materials
- Scaling up of materials for further testing on storage heating/cooling systems
- Study of the macro/micro/nano structure of thermochemical materials and its correlation with material properties
- Study of the kinetics of thermochemical energy conversion and materials
- Investigation of the stability and cyclability of thermochemical materials
- Study of how new materials interact with the physical structures that contain them, such as thermal storage tanks, pipes, ducts, etc.
- Close interdisciplinary collaboration with CIIAE colleagues. As well as collaboration with universities, research institutes and companies at a national and international level.
- Support, supervision and tutoring of doctoral students, postdocs and master's students
- Writing of scientific publications and presentation of results in international conferences
Acquisition of competitive financing, both private and public, project management and project administration.
Challenges:
- Develop new thermochemical materials with the desired thermal and physical properties
- Guarantee the cyclical stability of the materials developed

**Requisitos**
The selected person is required to have:
- Doctorate in one of the following disciplines: Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or similar.
Valuable master's degree in:
- Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion
- Chemical engineering
- Materials science
- Nanophysics and advanced materials
- Physics/Chemistry of interfaces
- Inorganic chemistry
- At least two years of postdoctoral experience
- Experience in the study of thermochemical storage systems.
- Experience in characterization techniques: gas adsorption, porosimetry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), microscopy (TEM, SEM, AFM, XPS), FTIR, Raman, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), particle size distribution (PSD), etc.
- Demonstrated experience in participation and/or collaboration in R+D+i projects will be valued
- English. To value Spanish and/or Portuguese
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and work in a team
- Commitment to open science practices, eg open access publishing, dissemination activities, development of open educational resources, open source software development.
- Demonstrable experience in collaborations inside and outside the work department
- Solid track record of publications in scientific journals. The number and relevance of scientific publications / congresses referring to the main topic of the position will be valued.
**¿Qué ofrecemos?**
Contract until September 2025, but with the possibility of continuing to be part of the centre in the long term.
Own agreement with the company hosting the birth of the centre until CIIAE has its own agreement.
