Design and synthesis of new TCMs optimised for long-term storage of solar or waste heat.
Characterisation of the thermal, electrical, mechanical, structural and chemical properties of the prepared materials.
Scale-up of the materials for further testing in heating/cooling storage systems.
Ensure robust and durable systems by studying degradation mechanisms and developing mitigation measures.
Ensure an appropriate collaboration and knowledge dissemination strategy by publishing research results in relevant journals, presenting at conferences, participating in research events and fostering collaborations with industrial partners, academic institutions and research organisations.
Support, supervision and mentoring of PhD and Masters students.
Acquisition of competitive funding, both private and public, project management and project administration.

To be assessed:
Have completed specific training courses relevant to the position offered.
Experience in modelling/simulation activities either directly or through collaborations.
First author or corresponding author on scientific articles.
Experience in scaling up laboratory systems to prototypes or pilot plants.
Experience in industrial collaborations and/or previous experience working in industry.
Demonstrated experience in supervising teams.
Have supervised bachelor's theses, master's theses (TFGs), master's theses (TFMs).
Having been principal investigator in R&D&I projects.
Having obtained funding or competitive research contracts, such as FPU, FPI, Torres Quevedo, Juan de la Cierva, Ramón y Cajal, Marie Sklodowska Curie, or equivalent.
Experience in writing proposals for R&D fundraising in competitive calls (national or international).
Patents.
Awards, mentions or other achievements.

**Requisitos**
PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Physics or similar.
- Valuable:
Master's degree in:
- Energy Storage and Conversion Materials
- Chemical Engineering
- Materials Science
- Nanophysics and Advanced Materials
- Interface Physics/Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Renewable Energy, Energy Management and Efficiency.
Would be an asset:
- Experience in high temperature thermochemical storage systems research or closely related area.
- Experience in techniques for the synthesis and functionalisation of porous materials, e.g. zeolites, mesostructured materials, carbonaceous materials, etc.
- Expertise in characterisation techniques: gas adsorption, porosimetry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), microscopy (TEM, SEM, AFM, XPS), FTIR, Raman, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), particle size distribution (PSD), etc.
Demonstrated experience in participation and/or collaboration in R&D&I projects will be an asset.
Oral and written knowledge of English and Portuguese will be an asset.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and work as part of a team
- Demonstrable experience in collaborations within and outside the work department
The number and relevance of scientific publications / conferences related to the main topic of the position will be valued.
The position requires occasional participation in events outside Extremadura.
